Here is everything you need to know to take part;
- The idea is to make something with chocolate each month. You can use any sort of chocolate or cocoa substance and use any ingredient that you like. But you must include the special ingredient or ingredients selected by the host. It can be sweet or savoury, simple or complicated; be as creative as you like. You can use anyone’s recipe (acknowledging the source of course) or make up your own.
- Choclette and I will take it in turns to host the challenge and select the special ingredient.
1. Post your recipe on your blog – accompanying photographs would be nice.
2. Mention “We Should Cocoa” in your post and link back to the relevant host’s blog. You will find who is hosting each month’s challenge by looking on the 'We Should Cocoa' page on the Chocolate Log Blog.
3. E-mail us the link to your submission and include your name, the name of your blog, your recipe title and a photograph to: weshouldcocoa@yahoo.co.uk
4. Entries should be submitted by the 25th of the month at the latest.
5. The round up of entries will be posted on the relevant host’s blog on the 1st of the month.
6. The new challenge will also be posted on the 1st of the month.
I'll be hosting our very first challenge (eeeeeeeeeeeeeek - take it easy on me now, I'm still feeling a bit under the weather!). The special ingredient for the month of September is [drum roll] ..... Raspberries. We're giving everyone a bit longer to take part in this first challenge so there is plenty of time for you to come up with your chocolate and raspberry combo. Don't forget to email us with a link to your post and a photo!
Can't wait to see all the wonderful dishes that will be created, hope to see you at the round up ;0)
PS - Logo is now done - that's it at the top of the page lol

Like the look of this...
ReplyDeleteThank goodness Emmalene! I just emailed Choclette to see if we had made a BIG mistake lol. It should be good fun ... now I just need to settle on which raspberry and chocolate combo to make for the first challenge!
ReplyDeleteBig steps forward NOT a big mistake (I hope). You've done a great job - I'd better get on and do my bit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine plan! It's always good to be encouraged to incorporate more chocolate into one's diet - and chocolate and raspberries is one of my favourite combinations. MUCH better than chocolate and strawberries! Time to start scouring the recipe books...
ReplyDeleteOh lordy, I'd love to have a go at this challenge. But with a diabetic daughter and a husband who gets a migraine at the mention of the word 'chocolate' I'll have to do it under cover of darkness!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so up for a monthly chocolate challenge!!! I can't wait to start looking for inspiration for this month's challenge - shouldn't be too tricky as I adore raspberries!!!
ReplyDeleteOh how exciting! Sadly, I am trying to eat less choc at the moment but I will try and take part in some of your challenges.
ReplyDeleteA chocolate challenge - I think I might be in with this one. So is the choc and raspberry the 25th of Sept?
ReplyDeleteI would like to try!! Timing is everything, and I just got the motivation required to shed some weight. But I think I'm up to the challenge
ReplyDeleteI also like the idea. Will the "secret" ingredient always be easy to find for everybody and in season? I am worried to may not be able to find raspberries in September anymore. I am not sure, but it could be.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely give it a try to participate.
I love this chocolate challenge Chele, love it! gloria
ReplyDeleteWow - so pleased everyone is up for joining in on some chocolate fun!
ReplyDeleteMy Kitchen In The Rockies - good point about the special ingredient! We were planning to launch We Should Cocoa for the challenges to start this month but one thing lead to another and so we just kept the same challenge but moved months. Would frozen raspberries be easy enough for you to get?
We will be keeping the challenges seasonal but sometimes we'll be mixing it up a bit by opening the books up and asking for everyone to make a 'type' of recipe like muffins or a cake etc.
I like it, I haven't taken part in cooking challenges yet, but as you two are both so wonderful I might be tempted. However some choc/raspberry brownies I made a couple of weeks ago were an utter disaster so I won't be repeating those.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to have you as part of the gang 'The Ordinary Cook' (although you are anything but ordinary!)
ReplyDeleteLinda V - Sorry! I meant to answer your question in my last comment ... too early in the morning for me!! This challenge is due to be posted by the 25th Sept. After that, we'll announce the new challenge on the 1st of every month (along with the last months round up of course!) and it will due to be posted on the 25th of the same month. So, on the 1st October we'll announce the second challenge and by the 25th October all posts for that challenge are due to be (or have already been) posted.
Hope that helps ;0)
Sounds like fun Chele, but with a chocolate hating husband and an ever widening waist band I will have to skip this one! xxoo

It promises to be a wonderful event. I certainly will try to participate. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed the announcement of this challenge. I'd love to join in! Raspberries are going to be a real challenge, because my son doesn't like them, and he eats most of what I cook.
ReplyDeleteI would love to participate if that's O.K.
ReplyDeleteChocolate and raspberries is one of my favourite combinations :-}}
moi qui adore le chocolat je trouve ce défi mensuel parfait
ReplyDeleteest ce que tout le monde peut participer!!!!
bonne journée
Mine's up - love this combo!
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant - and extra-challenging given that raspberries are hard to come by on my side of the world at the moment. But I think I have an idea...
ReplyDeleteJust sent my entry in. yey!
